Definition:

TerraCottem Universal soil conditioning technology to increase water and nutrient holding capacity

Physical soil conditioner designed to increase the water and nutrient holding capacity of soils and growing media and improve their structure, aeration and performance.  It increases the plant’s root development and plant growth and reduces the need for watering up to 50%.

This environmental technology is the result of a proprietary scientifically balanced composition consisting of more than 20 different substances, based different acrylamide and acrylic acid copolymers with potassium salt and ammonium salt; a balanced mixture of soluble, slow release and synthetic nitrogen fertilizers; growth precursors and volcanic rock.

The TerraCottem Universal soil conditioning technology has to be mixed homogeneously throughout the root zone or growing medium.

Transplanting a tree with
soil conditioning technology

1. Soil conditioning technology-increased water and nutrient holding capacity Dig plant hole at least 2 x the diameter of the root ball, container or spread of roots in the shape of a cube.  Keep small amount of soil from the hole apart from the rest.*
2. Soil conditioning technology-increased water and nutrient holding capacity Add TerraCottem Universal (TCU) to soil taken from the hole and mix well at the recommended rate.
3. Soil conditioning technology-increased water and nutrient holding capacity Fill partially with TCU-soil mixture.  Place tree in hole.
4. Soil conditioning technology-increased water and nutrient holding capacity Fill with rest of TCU-soil mixture not higher than the top of the root ball.
5. Soil conditioning technology-increased water and nutrient holding capacity Apply the soil set apart earlier as a mulch layer, creating a concave shape to trap available water.
6. Soil conditioning technology-increased water and nutrient holding capacity Water thoroughly.

*If planting on a hillside, plant hole should be built up (and not level with hillside) so that it traps any water run off and helps reduce erosion.

Flower & shrub beds, roof gardens, lawns, etc.

100 grams per m² area 3 ounces per yd2 area
or 20.5 pounds per 1,000 square feet
or 500 grams per m3 growing medium mixed off-site or 13.5 ounces per yd3 growing medium mixed off-site

1. Soil-conditioning technology increased water and nutrient holding capacity Apply TerraCottem Universal (TCU) to surface at recommended rate with a fertilizer spreader or mix off-site with growing medium and apply this to surface.
2. Soil-conditioning technology increased water and nutrient holding capacity Apply TerraCottem Universal (TCU) to surface at recommended rate with a fertilizer spreader or mix off-site with growing medium and apply this to surface.
3. Soil-conditioning technology increased water and nutrient holding capacity Mix into the root zone to a depth of 20 cm/8 inches with a rotovator, rotary hoe or rototiller, across the length and width of the area.
4. Soil-conditioning technology increased water and nutrient holding capacity For slopes, use a hoe to incorporate the product into the soil at a depth of 20 cm/8 in.
5. Soil-conditioning technology increased water and nutrient holding capacity Prepare soil for planting or seeding.
6. Soil-conditioning technology increased water and nutrient holding capacity Plant or seed.
