Home > Tree & Shrub Planting

It is far more labour intensive and expensive to replace a tree than taking the necessary precautions at the moment of planting.

Plant your trees with TerraCottem Universal and your trees will flourish, even in the toughest conditions.

A successful tree planting project - whether in a private garden, street, park or forest should start with the right choice of trees adapted to the site’s soil and climate conditions.  The trees should be of good nursery stock.  Attention should be paid to digging the right plant hole.  It should be neither too deep nor too shallow – about the same depth of the actual root ball - and at least twice as wide.  Trees should get a good soaking just after planting and ideally should be watered at least once a week during the first growing season.  Watering is determined by the soil not by the time of the year.

A good quality free draining soil is the ideal growing medium for young trees to develop a good root system.  Proper air and moisture supply in the soil will ensure good establishment of the trees.  An excess or shortage of water, compacted soil, and transplantation shock can all lead to poor growth and tree death.

Since its original development, the TerraCottem soil conditioning technology has gained credibility for its performance and cost-effectiveness in aforestation, reforestation, land reclamation and environmental restoration projects worldwide.  By surrounding plants’ roots with water, nutrients and natural growth stimulating elements, TerraCottem Universal stimulates root and plant growth and provides transplanted trees and shrubs with a significantly higher chance to survive the critical period just following transplanting, and for many years after.
