In the framework of Sustaffor project (FP7-Research for SMEs, 2013-2015) a network of 8 field trials was installed, comprising almost 4,000 trees in four strongly contrasted bioclimatic areas: Semiarid, Mediterranean continental, Mediterranean humid and Montane.

Summer shrubs and lilies are already starting to bloom and vegetables for summer consumption are growing fast. However, to gain the most from all plants watering now needs to be upped in frequency and extent, but naturally less so in gardens wisely planted with the more drought-resistant plants and with vegetable growing areas in shade for a good part of the day.
