A cyclone and a community

Our friends from TerraCottem Australia are sharing this mind-blowing case-study about what happened after the category 5 cyclone Marcia hit the Shire of Livingstone in Queensland.

Almost 500 trees needed to be replanted, co-ordinated by Matthew Kerr, using the TerraCottem soil conditioning technology. The product’s positive effect on plant and root growth became unintentionally obvious after vandals damaged 30 trees. Once again, those trees needed to be replaced but this wasn’t an easy task because their roots had grown well outside the original root balls.

“We planted a mix of 100, 45 and 20 litre sized trees. We planted them with TerraCottem – I’ve been using it for years ... and we’d all been watching them come along, commenting on how good they looked. The trunks were vibrant and the new leaf growth looked like lettuce.”

- Matthew Kerr, Shire of Livingstone
