Periods of drought can affect crop establishment, growth and yield potential. As soils dry, less water remains available to roots, increasing stress on the crop.
TerraCottem helps crops establish, grow and better cope with dry conditions.
TerraCottem is a soil conditioner that combines water retention, nutrition and root growth stimulation.
💧 More plant-available water
TerraCottem's water-absorbing polymers capture water from rainfall or irrigation and retain it in the root zone.
But retaining water is only useful if crops can access it. More than 95% of the water absorbed by TerraCottem's polymers remains available for plant uptake.
🌱 Stronger root development
TerraCottem's root growth components stimulate root development, helping crops explore a greater volume of soil for available water and nutrients.
🌿 Better nutrient efficiency
TerraCottem supplies nutrients and increases soil cation exchange capacity (CEC), helping retain nutrients in the root zone and improve nutrient use efficiency.

TerraCottem has been used across different crops, soils and growing conditions.
Here are three documented agricultural applications.
✅ TOMATOES — INDIA
60% LOWER IRRIGATION REQUIREMENT
A 12-week tomato trial in Himachal Pradesh, India, compared 50 plants treated with TerraCottem with an adjacent conventional plot.
The TerraCottem treatment required 60% less irrigation water. Survival reached 90% compared with 65% in the comparison plot, while average production was 8 kg per plant compared with 5 kg.

✅ VINES — DOURO, PORTUGAL
50% FEWER IRRIGATION ROUNDS
In a terraced vineyard in Portugal's Douro region, 8,000 newly planted vines were established in difficult slate soils where irrigation is manual.
With TerraCottem, survival reached 98.5%, compared with the usual 85–90%, while irrigation was reduced from six rounds to three. Better root development and overall plant growth were also observed.

✅ CITRUS — CÓRDOBA, SPAIN
SUCCESSFUL ESTABLISHMENT UNDER WATER STRESS
At a commercial orange plantation in Córdoba, Spain, 1,600 Valencia Delta seedlings with severely deteriorated root systems were planted under challenging conditions of heat and seasonal water stress.
With TerraCottem, all treated seedlings established successfully, developing strong root systems. Irrigation was also reduced by approximately 25% without signs of water stress.

FROM THE FIELD
SILAGE MAIZE — TURKEY
In a second-crop silage maize application in Turkey, 3 kg of TerraCottem per 1,000 m² was applied without base fertiliser.
